MDC has more than 75 outside sales representatives, as well as additional sales support, reporting to four regional offices. The company?s sales efforts extend further through a worldwide distribution network. A staff of approximately 90 associates are located in MDC?s corporate headquarters.
Account Executive- Iowa
Summary: Sell MDC products to A&D businesses, industrial establishments or individuals at sales office, store, showroom, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties. Territory to include Iowa with the exception of Sioux City.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit business.
Display or demonstrate products, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting, face to face meetings, presentations, and price negotiations.
Investigates and resolves customer problems including deliveries.
Develop and maintain relationships with all accounts
Prepares reports of business transactions, keep calendar and expense accounts up to date.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, cold calls, and other sources.
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
Attend trade shows and represent MDC in our booths.
Qualifications:

:
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university preferred Associates degree and experience in similar sales environment considered.
Sales Ability:
1-2 years of previous sales experience in a business to business environment with a high degree of customer service. Ability to build new and existing relationships. Self- starter and motivated hunter with the goal of outperforming the competition and raising the awareness of MDC products. Business Acumen skills. High degree of integrity.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work with multiple deadlines. Able to work under pressure.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word word processing software; Excel spreadsheet software; Accounting software; Explorer internet software; Order processing systems; and Contact Management systems.
