Sr Staff Accountant Job Opening in Brentwood, New york - U.S. Nonwovens Corp. (USN) is a manufacturing company based in Brentwood, NY. We are a team of talented employees with an obsession towards QUALITY. Established in 1993, USN is a manufacturer of various types of OTC Care, Personal Care & Home Care Products and associated chemicals. Within the last year we have grown exponentially by acquiring companies such as Ajax Laundry, Dynamo, Fab, Final Touch and Old Williamsburg Candle Company and are seeking gifted individuals to join our team.
We are currently hiring a Senior Staff Accountant which is a key role within the company?s accounting department. Your main function would be the maintenance and integrity of the General Ledger which will help us accurately report Financial Information.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance and integrity of General Ledger to complete the accounting cycle in compliance with established practices and accepted accounting principles.
Identify and correct errors in the General Ledger made by both internal and external personal.
Perform the month-end close.
Prepare and post journal entries.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations. v
Calculate and post accruals.
Allocation of costs among divisions and cost centers.
Overall maintenance of all operational accounts.
Analyze Profit and Loss Statement against prior year and budgets, provide explanation for significant variances.
Reconciliation of bank accounts, fixed assets, accounts payable and accounts receivables to the general ledger.
This position works with various accounting and reporting systems to complete tasks and must be able to handle and organize data effectively.
Skills:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting is required.
CPA is a huge plus.
Experience with a Manufacturing company
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are required to succeed.
Qualified candidates will have 5 to 7 years of experience in Accounting and outstanding leadership skills.

Prior work experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Distribution is a plus.
An enterprising and inquisitive nature that can find solutions to complex problems.
Experience creating Excel models and implementing process improvement solutions.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly communicate results and implications of analysis in both verbal and written forms.
Experience communicating effectively with all levels leadership, and experience communicating with all levels of financial acumen.
Strong fundamental business technical skills (including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills) and software applications.
JDE experience is a plus.
Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
