Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Opening in Clarksburg, West virginia - JOB SUMMARY OR OVERVIEW:
The Account Receivable Specialist is responsible for a variety of duties, as assigned by supervisor, such as:
Posting of payments from insurance and patients, both electronically and via paper.
Makes appropriate adjustments to patient accounts in accordance with insurance explanation of benefits, (EOB?s).
Entering the denials into system
Researching payment information on payer websites
Creating Appeal letters for claims and line items that were improperly denied.
Ability to recognize incorrectly paid claims
Answer incoming billing related calls
Problem solving for various payers, including; HMO, Medicaid, Medicare and private pay to find out why a claim has not yet been paid.
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Previous experience in a healthcare business setting.
Prior customer service experience is desirable.
Established proficiency in Billing and Collection functions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills, required.
Computer skills required.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, and CPT codes are desirable.
Ability to function well in a fast paced, frequently changing work environment, with many goals and deadlines.
Ability to prioritize and reprioritize multiple tasks to achieve goals.
Ability to absorb and retain large quantities of information.
Ability and willingness to work as a team member required.
