Accounting Senior Job Opening in Rockville, Maryland - Summary of Position:
The Accounting Senior will review multiple client A/P and cash disbursements, billings and receivables, and cash receipts, perform bank and other account reconciliations and prepare journal entries and month-end closings including assisting in financial statement preparation. In addition, the Accounting Senior may supervise and mentor team staff members and assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review multiple client A/P and cash disbursements, billings and receivables, and cash receipts
Perform bank and other account reconciliations
Prepare journal entries and month-end closings including assisting in financial statement preparation
Assist with review of fixed assets, preparation of budgets, and support for financial audits
Mentor team staff members
Maintain current documentation of best practices
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Accounting degree from a U.S. institution or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
4-6 years of accounting experience; public accounting or professional services experience preferred
Proficiency in JAMIS Prime ERP or Acumatica required.
Advanced Excel and data management skills
Resourceful and enjoys problem solving
Experience with multi-systems environments and electronic workflow systems preferred
Passion for data integrity, systems integrations, and process improvements
Flexible and interested in a challenging variety of assignments
