Financial Analyst Job Opening in Baltimore, Maryland - Indeed Hire and Lupin Somerset are partnering together to find a Financial Analyst to join their team at the Baltimore, MD headquarters. The Financial Analyst will support the Finance and the R&D leadership teams through the preparation and effective communication of high quality, insightful and timely planning, analytics and financial reporting for R&D activities. Manage budgets, forecasts and project plans for all R&D activities, including product development, capital spending and pipeline management. Develop and maintain project valuations for in-process and pipeline projects. Interact with R&D and business leaders at all levels to insure compliance with all financial control and reporting procedures.
Responsibilities:
Manage the annual budget process for the R&D business, and generate all required reports, schedules and presentation materials
Prepare and maintain the P&L forecast, including project spending plans and related analysis
Prepare monthly management reporting package, including, but not limited to, operating results, budget and forecast variances, R&D project spending and status updates, etc.
Plan and track spending by project on a monthly/quarterly basis
Assist in prepare and maintain the 5-year Strategic Plan
Prepare and maintain the requisite financial analyses to assess and track the expected value of all R&D pipeline projects, including an overall portfolio summary assessment
Manage the capital expenditure process
Provide financial guidance and support to R&D leadership
Generate ad hoc reports and analytics as needed
Other projects, tasks and assignments as directed
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics; MBA preferred
Experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry working with Research and Development activities (or some knowledge of) preferred
2+ years of corporate finance and/or public accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively cross-functionally with at all levels of management
Proactive, motivated, analytical and strategic thinker with a ?roll up your sleeves? attitude and requiring limited management oversight
Team player, capable of wearing multiple hats
Top-notch Excel skills; SAP experience desirable; other financial modeling experience a plus
