Job Summary
As a junior member of the development team, must apply basic knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Must be familiar with host environments, processors, operating systems and networks and have the ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components.
Role Description
Implement the Technical Specification using the relevant development language (Java, Magic).
Produce source code by applying the technical standards, and referencing the systems' exposed sub-processes.
Update the reference documentation and update the scheduling tool with progress.
Consult with Business Analyst and Architect on technical issues encountered.
Document logic and comments inside code.
Document Database structure changes and rule changes. Produce or update the configuration files.
Conduct unit testing, and fix any defects found. Review error logs and provide BA with updates on fixes found in testing.
Consult and assist the BA in reviewing defects found in testing.
During Test Standby duties, handle any defects as raised in the testing process. Release the source code with zero defects
Participate in the process of reviewing code for consistent application of standards, logic and effective use of libraries and reusable aspects of the application
Respond to incidents escalated by the Incidents team. Log issues in the appropriate issues tracking system. Conduct preliminary analysis on issues. Verify and validate build stability.
Required Experience
Software development experience 1-3 years
Create flowcharts that show processing logic for simple programs
Maintain records to document program development and revisions
Java version 6.0+ software development experience 1-3 years;
XML and related technologies experience 1-3 years.
Enterprise Java experience;
Relational or other database experience;
Experience developing to service oriented architecture (SOA);
Virtual machine experience;
Computer network experience;
Experience with installation and use of Linux operating system;
Enterprise (ie Spring) experience;
System/software engineering product lifecycle experience.
Demonstrates in-depth understanding of SDLC by providing leadership.
Development of an effective plan for communicating project information to the project team and to the project stakeholders
Experience in operating within large programs with interrelated work streams
Ability to Monitor project activities for the occurrence of risks and takes timely action to escalate or mitigate the risk
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor?s degree in computer science or related fields. Master?s Degree is a plus
Minimum Required Experience: At least 3 years* experience in source code development
Agile, Unit Testing. Database structure design. Technical Change Control
Java, SQL, Oracle, WebLogic, XML, TopLink/Hibernate
Experience with UI development, including JSF (Java Server Faces), Struts, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and HTML interfaces with JavaScript
Experience with Object Orientated design and programming with Java / J2EE knowledge and experience required
Ability to comfortably move across high-level technical design, detailed technical design, implementation, and production support
