Provides in an atmosphere of healthcare service that contributes to the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being of each person served.
Collects relevant patient health data, analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and identifies individualized, expected outcomes for a specific population.
The RN systematically evaluates the patient?s progress toward attaining expected outcomes and adjusts care accordingly.
The RN acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in the care of acute or critically ill patients.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
BLS training required
ACLS & Balloon Pump required within 6 months of employment
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Currently licensed in the State of Louisiana to practice as an RN, or holds a temporary permit in the State of Louisiana
BLS certification.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
A. Completes accurate patient assessments and treatments, reports pertinent findings and
takes appropriate action.
B. Administers medications and treatments as ordered and evaluates patient response.
C. Delivery of care is developmentally appropriate for each patient.
D. Recognizes limitations; involves manager as appropriate.
E. Initiates and/or updates IDPOC.
F. Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment used in work area.
G. Effectively anticipates needs of patients, families, and surgeons.
H. Documentation is accurate, appropriate and completed in timely manner.
