Business Analyst Job Opening in Houston, Texas - POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Analyst is responsible for maintaining and analyzing data related to the financial performance of the organization, individual markets and payor collection trends. The Analyst is also responsible for compiling and reporting information as requested by financial accounting, operations, revenue cycle and management. Other responsibilities include researching and identifying new market and facility opportunities, assistance and maintenance of a monthly dashboard of key indicators and external benchmarks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with or review the collection and calculation of certain facility/customer data or operating statistics, such as facility, referral and assistant utilization, salary and wage statistics or payer statistics.
Work with management to further refine certain key metrics within the business, both from an overall perspective and on a basis.
Research certain market and facility elements to help identify new opportunities.
Further develop and maintain existing forecasting models. This modeling includes not only the updating of a rolling detailed income statement forecasts by location; but also the consolidated financial statements.
Assist the Controller and CFO with details supporting various Company dashboards and presentation materials.
Utilize knowledge of the business and trends learned through the forecasting process and metrics development to support the development of the annual budget.
Analyze profitability by region, identify trends and present findings to senior management.
Work under general supervision and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Financial modeling for potential acquisitions and/or business relationships.
Perform a variety of tasks and ad-hoc analyses.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor?s degree in finance, accounting and/or business administration is required.
4+ years? experience as a financial analyst.
Healthcare experience is preferred.
Strong quantitative skills preferred with proficiency in Excel, pivot tables, and PowerPoint is a plus.
Strong work ethic and commitment to operational excellence.
Flexible to various demands and ability to remain calm under tight deadlines.
High degree of creativity as well as intellectual curiosity is required.
Experience with pivot tables and report writing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
