Health Insurance - Internal Sales Representative Job Opening in Columbus, Ohio - Job Summary:
Serve as the primary contact for all incoming retail business brought into May Insurance Services, Inc. Integrate and service books of business acquired by MIS. Write and service retail business across all lines ? Individual, Small Group, Ancillary and Medicare Supplement plans. Primary method of client contact will be through phone conversations, email as well as outside travel. Position involves approximately 25% outside travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow-up on leads and referrals from new Brokers brought into MIS;
Work with MIS internal staff to integrate and service acquired books of business, while working with insureds to ensure smooth and seamless transition from previous broker;
Effectively process AORs and perform subsequent follow-up with clients and carriers until MIS is properly established as the agent of record;
Run quotes, set-up employee meetings, provide post-approval service and process renewals;
Use electronic database as needed for client information and tracking;
Attend training as needed and maintain strong product knowledge for Individual medical and ancillary products, Small Group medical and ancillary, Level Funded and Voluntary products, and Medicare Supplement plans;
Write New Business consistent with annually established goals; and
Ensure excellent communication and service is rendered to clients and referral sources.
Qualifications:
Must be trained and have demonstrated skills in the following areas: knowledge and understanding of sales, assessment techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting sales, additional skills in managing sales: such as planning, organizing, communicating and directing. Must have at least 3 years of experience selling health insurance. Must be licensed for life & health insurance and maintain certification with . Keep license current by attending and obtaining necessary continuing education credits. Must have knowledge of or demonstrated competency to learn proper use of office equipment such as copier, fax, phones and computer software used by MIS.
Compensation:
Base salary plus residual commission.
