Education/Compliance/ Infection Control Nurse Job Opening in Greenville, South carolina - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to work a flexible schedule (developed in coordination with the DON) to include all shifts, all days as needed to train and educate staff
Develop and follow a comprehensive infection prevention risk assessment and program, to include surveillance, reporting and nursing assessment and interventions to prevent the most commonly occurring infections in long-term care
Coordinates and assists in the development of training programs, research training materials and identify trainers
Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for nursing employees
Develop, direct and schedule refresher training, as necessary, for assigned staff and licensed professional personnel.
Provide staff education during the orientation process to include abuse and neglect, resident rights, privacy standards, etc.
Direct, evaluate and supervise resident care and initiate corrective
Maintains current knowledge base of guidelines for Medicare providers.
Provides education for interdisciplinary team, licensed nurses, and certified nursing assistants.
Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and leading the Nursing Department around the clock in order to ensure competent nursing care for the residents.
Assist the DON in establishing policies and interpreting those policies according to the standards of nursing practice.
Rotates among various clinical services of institution as needed.
Participates in community quality assessment and improvements programs.
Maintains compliance to all personnel policies, established community policies and procedures, and Federal and State regulations and standards, including but not limited to HIPAA privacy and confidentiality laws.
Participates in an on-call program with other nursing administration.
Conducts a quarterly Mock DHEC Survey for Skilled and Assisted Living
Provides assistance to the DON in completing Performance Evaluation for all Healthcare Employees.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

* Two years of supervisory experience in a Long Term Care setting preferred: 2 years
