Computer Programmer Job Opening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Senior Software Engineer will develop information systems based on the business requirements set forth. They will lead a small team of developers responsible for building new and support existing websites mostly built using wordpress themes.
Ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of delivery and excellent software engineering skills. Responsibilities:
Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
Analyze, design, coordinate and supervise the development of software systems to form a basis for the solution of information processing problems.
Tests new programs to ensure that logic and syntax are correct, and that program results are accurate; assists lower-level programmers with programming assignments.
Responsible for development of new programs, analyzes current programs and processes, and making recommendations which yield a more cost effective product.
Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Collaborate with team to brainstorm and create new products
Grow engineering teams by interviewing, recruiting and hiring
Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals
Be a persistent, creative problem solver

Qualifications:
Degree in appropriate field of study
5+ years of experience as a software engineer
Either strong OOP or Functional Programing skills
4+ years professional experience in professional web development
Fluent in PHP and JavaScript
Experience coding, testing and documenting? including all front end functionality and templates ? and modules ? using contributed modules and developing custom modules as needed
Experience in API data projects
Database Architecture Experience
Amazon EC2 Cloud management
Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines
Experience implementing and consuming large scale web services
Experience developing software.
Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations
Eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies
Knowledge in Google Analytics, Google AdWords
