Position Overview
Leads and manages accounting, financial control and reporting for the Asia region. Serves as a liaison with associates at the Asia offices and in Corporate Finance, Valuation, Administration, Tax, Retrocession and IT departments. Initiates required actions to ensure department alignment and coordination with all other areas of the company to implement corporate strategies and achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage and direct all aspects of accounting for Asian offices. Provide oversight and ensure quality over Asian offices for consolidated US GAAP financial results and financial reporting processes and controls.
Lead annual financial planning and budget process for Asia
Oversee and review Sarbanes Oxley scope, compliance, risk and controls while collaborating with internal controls and external auditors to ensure timely and accurately delivery of audit tasks.
Serve as the segment accountant representative for Asia to collaborate and coordinate with other segment accountants to promote consistency and efficiency in financial reporting and financial processes.
Potentially lead and manage a distributed team remotely.
Work with colleagues from multiple functions and locations with occasional morning or evening conference calls.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
10+ years accounting or auditing experience
5+ years supervisory or management experience
Preferred:
Master?s Degree and/or CPA
PeopleSoft experience
Insurance or reinsurance experience

Highly advanced level of people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility
Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received
Highly advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
Expert ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management
Highly advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
Highly advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously
Highly advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
Highly advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers
Highly advanced ability to analyze and improve business processes
Competent knowledge of insurance accounting
Expert knowledge of accounting/finance and financial reporting, including GAAP and statutory requirements
Basic Word, intermediate Excel and SQL/Query skills
Preferred:
Advanced knowledge of insurance and reinsurance accounting
