Project Cost Accountant Job Opening in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Will perform duties and responsibilities as defined below as a lead Cost Accountant on one or more small to medium projects. Duties:
Attend and participate in kickoff meetings
Maintain phase codes and budgets
validate timesheet transaction coding-daily
Create purchase orders in Viewpoint System as required
Create subcontracts in Viewpoint as required
Facilitate entry and management of Change Orders in Viewpoint as needed
Assist in verification and approval of project invoices
Monitor and correct data anomalies that can adversely impact project performance projections
Facilitate entry of progress quantities weekly (each Friday)
Facilitate entry of cost and revenue projections-weekly (each Wednesday)
Timely preparation and submission of client billings
Assist in monitoring and collection of outstanding payments as needed
Generate reporting as may be require by PM as needed
Assist PM in preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reporting (every month)
Perform project cost research as required by PM
Ensure that project cost documents are complete and organized
Assist in preparation of project closeout documentation
Attend and participate in project closeout
Mentor peers
Qualifications:
Strong analytical skills
Strong organizational skills
Basic to intermediate understanding of project performance methodologies
Basic to intermediate understanding of industrial contracting terminology and practices
Ability to timely and accurately facilitate required transactions with Viewpoint constriction Software
Basic to intermediate understanding of Viewpoint
Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel
Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums with direct management, peers, and clients
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to effectively manage stressful situations
Could be overnight and extended travel depending on the project
