Sales Manager Job Opening in Anchorage, Alaska - Responsible for the sales staff and administration and sales of all Microcom products. This includes: DISH, DirecTV, Exede & HughesNet. Ensures a high level of profitability, overall customer , adequate staffing levels, training, internal and external growth, and maximization of asset utilization, in order to achieve company goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directs P&L responsibilities for the office.
Responsible for achieving sales and installation goals.
Participates in development of fiscal budgets.
Manages and develops new business opportunities and strategies.
Oversees hiring, training and recruiting needs.
Provides daily leadership to employees within the geographic area assigned.
Responsible for promoting sales and installation services directly to retailers and consumers.
Complies with management reporting and communications as requested.
Travels to meet with prospective clients, customers, and local service centers and attend company meetings, as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate professionals. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 5 years of high level sales experience, including 2 years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires an elevated understanding of the processes, procedures and responsibilities performed by lower level staff, including thorough knowledge of multi channel video distribution systems, distribution, service and electronics and broadband service and equipment.
SKILLS
Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff. Competencies include excellent , organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Flexible, innovative and the ability to manage staff, responsibilities and priorities in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to toy with, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May occasionally be required to lift up to 75 pounds for short distances and/or move bulky objects. Must be comfortable working in small spaces and/or various heights. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Occasionally will be required to climb ladders in a safe manner. Employee, including any tools or equipment that is carried, must be able to remain within the weight requirements of a 350 pound ladder.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
