Database Engineer Job Opening in Orlando, Florida - Position Overview: Owns the design, development, and sustainment of databases and interfacing applications. Serves as the lead technical resource in the implementation and oversight of the database systems. Responsible for software and database development, optimization based on best practices, and proactive maintenance to ensure database systems integrity, performance, and availability levels meet business and operational needs. Additional responsibilities include:
Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated strong analytical and partnering skills
Ability to multi-task amongst several priorities
Ability to learn new technologies quickly through self-study
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of enterprise databases (both single-instance and Oracle RAC)
Design and maintain various Database Technology Stacks
Develop and optimize SQL Commands and Queries
Performance tuning utilizing SQL commands (without using Oracle Enterprise Manager)
Understanding of SQL/PL-SQL language and be able to execute
UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting, TOAD, SQL Developer, Oracle Discoverer, PL/SQL
Can understand, tune, write and execute SQL queries and scripts.

Basic Qualifications
Must be US Citizen
Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance highly desired
Experience developing software in Oracle Database Environments
Experience developing, integrating, implementing and maintaining PostgreSQL
Experience implementing and maintaining SQL Server
Ability to write efficient, complex queries
Experience with data warehousing
Experience working with Database Security (e.g. DOD STIGs)
Ability to partner and work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Excellent communication, documentation, prioritization, and customer service
Ability to work in a Drug Free Workplace
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in NoSQL Database Technologies (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc)
C# or Development
Experience with SQL Reporting Services, BI, or other Data Reporting Products
Java Development
Experience implementing and maintaining MySQL
Cloud Experience (AWS, Azure, etc)
Strong experience implementing and developing API layers
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000.00 to $160,000.00 /year
