Finance Director Job Opening in New York, New york - As Finance Director, you will oversee all financial activities and drive financial planning. You will be an expert in accounting, financing, and business principles. The role requires both attention to detail and a strategic sense if something looks right or wrong. You will be responsible for managing the company?s financial reporting, assessing its performance, and advising on risks. The successful candidate will be expected to guide the company in investments and towards long-term profitability and success.
Responsibilities:
Manage the financial planning & analysis for The Publisher Desk and provide thought leadership on opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of support
Oversee the development and maintenance of models used to review financials and perform variance analysis
Lead ad-hoc financial analyses across the business and categories
Report on financial and operational performance metrics
Assist in the development and preparation of the annual business plan
Partner with senior executives to develop annual budgets and communicate trends to ensure business goals are met in a manner consistent with the overall strategy
Assess and monitor financial risks & opportunities
Competitor analysis and market research in relevant technology and advertising verticals
Month end close and Variance analysis.
Billing and Receivables reconciliations.
Bank account point person and reporting responsibilities including lines of credit and dealing with fund companies.
What we are looking for:
Proven knowledge of financial planning, analysis techniques and best practices
Demonstrated ability to construct detailed, comprehensive financial models
Outstanding verbal and written presentation skills and experience presenting analyses to Senior Executives
Strong leadership skills
Advanced proficiency Excel (including Pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Google Docs
Media and/or Sales sector knowledge a plus
Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, plus related Master?s, is highly preferred
