Environmental Combustion and Controls (ECC) is a $2.7 billion strategic business unit (SBU) providing integrated product solutions in heating and heating processes, ventilation, cooling and refrigeration, air purification, zoning, humidification, air conditioning, water controls and processes, electrical devices and systems, lighting control, switches, sensors and controllers. Customers include original equipment manufacturers, commercial, homeowners, contractors, retail, trade building managers, consulting engineers and distributors. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: ? Design and develop software systems operating on all aspects of building, refrigeration and environmental controls in a web based enterprise wide environment. ? Design systems supporting open standards including web services to interoperate with various legacy control systems. ? Design, integrate and implement systems at various levels of the architecture from embedded controllers through server based applications to enterprise web based solutions. ? Integrate existing solutions with third party equipment and keep products current with changing technologies and requirements. ? Analyze and adapt development processes and methodologies to meet the objectives of given projects. ? Deliver quality results meeting the requirements on time and within budget. ? Work internally with product management, engineering and sales management to identify new solution ideas, create requirements, schedule and deliver on project activities from end to end. Externally, work with suppliers of software and equipment. ? Write, edit, and debug solution templates for assigned projects. ? Develop and maintain test methods for solution templates. ? Review code and designs for software modules and components to improve quality and reuse. ? Make presentations to management, customers, or professional peers. ? Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems. ? Performs work of high difficulty in designing, writing, editing, modifying, and debugging application programming. ? Identify tasks which require automation and automate them. Relocation assistance is available for this position. Basic Qualifications: ? Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or an Associate?s Degree and 5 years HVAC and/or refrigeration experience. ? 1 year experience in a software development or engineering design and development position. ? 1 year experience and/or training with Niagara AX and/or function block programming. Preferred Qualifications ? Experience in model driven development and object oriented architecture, analysis, design and development using Java, C or C#. ? Solid understanding of Web Services and enterprise system architectures. ? Good knowledge of SQL, UML, and SOA. ? A solid understanding of computing environment concepts and principles of client/server architecture and programming. ?
