Qualifications:
Reports directly to the Billing Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day functions of the Medical Billing team (5+ employees) which consists of:
Charge review
A/R functions
Patient Inquiries
Responsibility of accounts
Responsible for implementing new policies/procedures, systems approved by management.
Training and educating new and existing employees on billing procedures and systems.
This position also has hands on accounts to be worked as well as the following responsibilities.
Supervises the day-to-day functions of the Medical Billing team which consists of monitoring staff, charge entry review, account receivables (reports, matrix)
Must have experience supervising 5+ employees in the department
Implement and adhere to policies, procedures and systems for proper coding and quality assurance once these are established.
Ensure accuracy to optimize reimbursement while adhering to regulations.
Monitors tasks to improve billing practices and increase revenue.
May attend training and meetings to receive updated coding and or billing information if Manager feels when necessary.
Determines staff level and coordinates with Billing Manager appropriately to meet work volume demands.
Reports all staffing deficiencies and disciplinary issues to Billing Manager by providing all documentation to ensure proper review and action.
Ensures adherence to objectives, operating policies and procedures, and strategic action plans for achieving goals.
Provides leadership and motivation by addressing clear expectations, communicates specific performance feedback to the Billing Manager to ensure timely and thorough performance reviews using internal standards.
Communicates coaching needs for staff who failed to perform and deliver the prescribed and committed level of performance output and standards to the Billing Manager.
Qualifications:
4+ years? experience in medical field
Experience with billing 3+ TIN at a time
Experience with working with 20+ NPI's
40-50 accounts per day for AR Specialist/ Medical Billing
Must have proven track record in supervising the day-to-day functions of Medical Billing Team such as reviewing, coding and collecting all services provided in the clinic.
Strong experience in the areas of leadership and team development, coaching and mentoring and situational assessment skills and with proven track record in building and developing high performing teams.
Capable of guiding the team in initiating various change management initiatives with the view of leading and guiding the organization towards the future.
Strong experience in setting team directions and aligning team goals around business plans.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
An effective communicator with strong oral, written and persuasive skills and capability to deal with people at all levels in the organization.
Knowledgeable of federal and state laws and requirements relating to healthcare management.
Computer literate and proficient in using various computer programs and must have extensive MS Office Suite experience (excel, word, PowerPoint, Outlook,)
