Finance Director Job Opening in Portland, Maine - Shalom House, Inc is the largest provider of community residential programs and housing for adults with severe and persistent mental illness in Maine. In addition we provide community integration and peer support services, offer a consumer educators service and an art program. We are seeking a Director of Finance who will be a strategic thought-partner, and report directly to the Executive Director. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative director and will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: finance, contract oversight, cost reports and budgeting. The Finance Director directs, develops and administers all financial aspects of the agency. This includes development and analysis of accounting systems, cost and financial analysis, internal auditing system, procedures and contractual arrangements. The Finance Director assumes leadership in the preparation of all financial reports and assures timeliness, high quality and accuracy. Successful candidate will be a multitasker with the ability to wear many hats and have excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The Finance Director will be a member of the Shalom House Director?s Team, Leadership Team and attend Board of Directors meetings and Finance Committee.
Requirements and Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor?s Degree in a financial field or business administration (appropriate certification such as C.P.A or C.M.A. may be substituted), Master?s Degree preferred
Five-seven years? experience in financial management (nonprofit experience preferred)
Experience with Mainecare billing, DHHS contracts and reports, as well as HUD funding strongly preferred
Supervisory and leadership experience required
Monday through Friday schedule with flexibility in scheduling
