Financial Analyst Job Opening in ann arbor, Michigan - Financial Analyst A global data publishing company, has an opening for a temporary financial analyst in Ann Arbor, MI. I have included the job description below. Responsible for implementing and interpreting accounting and financial concepts for financial planning and control; performing analyses to determine present and future financial performance; and gathering, analyzing, preparing, and summarizing financial plans, operating forecasts and variance analyses in support of clients Healthcare's operations. This position will be in Ann Arbor, Michigan and responsibilities include but are not limited to: ? Preparing and reviewing financial management reports for business unit operations ? Performing regular and ad-hoc accounting and financial analyses for financial and operations management ? Gathering, preparing, and reviewing business unit revenue and expense plans and forecasts ? Utilizing accounting transaction and reporting systems to generate reports, respond to inquiries, conduct research, and identify and resolve problems ? Providing inputs to accounting function (e.g. accruals); ensuring accurate and timely recording of historical transaction information ? Designing and developing Microsoft Excel and/or Access models; enhancing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes and transforming data into actionable information ? Serving as a key liaison between business unit operations and accounting functions; ensuring accurate and timely recording of project costs and revenue / Ideal candidates should have: ? Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; candidates with a Master's degree or MBA, preferred ? 3-7 years experience in a finance or accounting position, required ? 1-3 years of forecasting, budgeting, and reporting experience, required ? Working knowledge of financial reporting systems and tools required. Prefer direct experience in SAP and Cognos; familiarity with Oracle Order-to-Cash, Peachtree, and Hyperion, a plus ? Advanced Excel skills required, specifically (but not limited to) pivot tables/ summaries, vlookup, concatenation, logical formulas such as SUMIF, etc. ? Experience with Microsoft Access a plus ? Knowledge of, and ability to interpret and apply, finance and accounting policies, practices, and systems ? Excellent financial analytic skills, combined with superior attention to detail ? The ability to multi-task, effect change across functions, and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a track record of delivered results.
