Student Registration and Cashier Specialist Job Opening in Saint George, Utah - Summary :
Perform a variety of customer service and clerical work requiring general knowledge of fee collection and cashiering activities. Assist in the implementation of a variety of registration activities including processing incoming payments for telephone registration and processing over the counter registration transactions. Assist in maintaining a variety of financial records, logs files, and journals related to fee collection and accounting; and operate a personal computer to post and update records and furnish statements. Assist in the review and audit of records, forms, and other materials to assure accuracy and completeness. Operate a variety of office machines including a personal computer, calculator, adding machine, copier, etc. Comply with approved college-specific procedures. Attend various meetings as required. Assist in training and providing direction to hourly and temporary employees. Maintain departmental area(s) in a safe, clean and orderly condition; assure compliance with established safety procedures and regulations. Maintain currency of qualifications for area of assignment. Perform other related duties as assigned. This is a full-time position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process Payments from individuals and companies in person or over the phone in a timely manner
Batch drawer out every evening
Batch drawers together every morning
Refer Payment Plans to Financial Aid
Enter sponsorships in student?s accounts
Attach fees to companies
Apply sponsorships to appropriate student invoices
Input book vouchers into student management system
Process requests and submit to Fiscal Office
Process Vending Machine funds
Every month check for OSTB in companies/sponsors accounts and apply campus cash if applicable
Check student/sponsor accounts monthly to ensure all refunds have been made
Check online portal/authorized payments are input correctly
Make cash drawer adjustments for other cashiers
Take payments for security and coordinate with security manager
Take testing center payments and coordinate with testing center coordinator
Reply to e-mails in a timely manner
Take deposits to the bank daily
Work with registrar to register, add, or remove students from classes
Add appropriate fees to accounts
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications :
Banking and or Cashier experience preferred
5+ years experience in financial setting
Knowledge of Excel preferred
This position requires keyboarding, writing and pinching; repeating the same movements; using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; standing for long periods of time; sitting for long periods of time; understanding the speech of another person; speaking clearly so listeners can understand; seeing details of objects that are less than a few feet away; lifting/carrying object that weigh 20-50 pounds; and pushing/pulling objects that weigh 10-20 pounds.
