Staff Accountant Job Opening in Columbus, Ohio - POSITION SUMMARY: Provide financial support to program/s. Responsible for customer billing and invoicing from sub-contractors, and designated corporate Accounts Payable functions. Provide financial receivables analysis to evaluate performance of the program for sustainability and make recommendations to senior management and executives for decision making.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Staff Accountant will perform duties including, but not limited to:
Monitoring of billing and collection of receivables for program/s
Responsible for reviewing invoices from sub-contractors and vendors for correctness and eligibility for payment
Responsible for processing of invoices and payments in accounting system
Responsible for entering program financial data into the general ledger accounting system and analysis of same.
Prepare internal financial reports with analysis thereof
Provide financial reports required by external parties
Design and maintain automated cost reporting systems for related contracts including necessary forms, procedures, databases and reports.
Ensure program complies with NYAP policies
Work with NYAP external auditors
Assist NYAP Controller, NYAP Director of Finance and Accounts Receivable Manager with overall financial management of program/s and NYAP at large.
Perform other duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with relevant or accounting experience. Experience with non-profit organizations is a plus.
Must have excellent computer and analytical skills to include Excel. Familiarity with MS Dynamics, GP, Evolv or other electronic payment and remittance system is use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
OTHER SKILLS:
Ability to work with limited daily supervision and be well organized
Display excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Position will be based in Columbus and incumbent must have ability to travel to other states NYAP operates.
