As the AP Assistant , you will assist in the accounts payable accounting operations of the company assuring prompt and correct payment to vendors and service providers.
Functions key to success:
Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures
Review expense coding to ensure proper and accurate classification of costs per department and nature
Review and process Credit Card Expense reports and receipts submitted by cardholders on monthly basis
Manage relationships with vendors, service providers
Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, etc.
Conduct month-end process
Maintain, improve and ensure the correct performance of the accounting and reporting controls
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What you bring to the Table:
You've worked hard to achieve success in your educational career, now put it to use. If you have a Bachelor's degree (Accounting or Finance preferred), you are half way there with the needed abilities for this position.
Excellent Communication skills.
Effectively manage tasks, deadlines and individuals.
Ability to interact with colleagues in a self-managed team structure.
Must be able to multitask, problem solve, and implement innovative processes within a fast-paced environment.
Ability to analyze financial documents and make recommendations as needed
Finally, in a technology-driven world, it's important to know your way around a computer. For this role, it will be important to know the basics of the following: Â Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point and other PC based programs.
Working knowledge of Quickbooks and other relevant financial managements systems is a must .

Effective communication will be key for this role and will require you to talk and hear others. You will probably spend the majority of your time sitting and/or walking around the office, whether to visit a co-worker or make it to a meeting on time and there may be occasional long hours to put in if you are diligently working to complete a project and finish a report.
