Sr. Training Specialist Job Opening in Windsor Mill, Maryland - Job Summary :
Responsible for conducting formal instructor-led training in the class room and virtually via webinars. The courses includes training new and existing/advanced users on the Business Intelligence Applications, BusinessObjects and/or SAS EBI Enterprise Guide and includes access, GUI, queries, syntax, reports, data relationships, semantic layer, code, error logs and best practices for in-database processing.
Job Responsibilities :
Lead BusinessObjects and/or SAS Courses three-day formal instructor-led training for 20 participants, as well as modularized webinars virtually using Adobe Connect. Classes are in Baltimore and travel is required monthly nationally to satellite sites.
Able to translate, articulate, simplify and communicate complex business and technical functions to audiences with different levels of expertise.
Work directly with users, client, and project team to develop end-user training and reference materials.
Produce, assemble, and ship training class materials to meet deadline.
Maintain training class materials inventory. Continue to improve and mature the program?s BO, SAS offering, and curriculum.
Support and lead the end-to-end preparation through evaluation of classroom activities. This includes preparing for each class by testing access, ensuring training materials are accurate and current, ensure functionality of training environments and class examples to ensure successful delivery of hands-on exercises and use-case scenarios.
Conduct post class surveys and complete Training Reports for each class session.
Conduct webinars for the user community during monthly forums to highlight and/or introduce best practices and functionality as well as address common pain points and problems.
Participate in various requirements sessions with internal and external stakeholders and convert business / functional requirements into technical solutions, along with supporting materials such as use cases, designs, flowcharts, models, specifications, and reports.
Provide technical support to requirements, development, testing, help desk, and training teams, as well as act as an Application SME.
Train, coach and mentor other project and training team members.
Communicate with project management team efficiently.
Follow the Project Management Process, CMMI Level 3 guidelines while performing the ADDIE ISD development life cycle ensuring all deliverables are Section 508 compliant.
Job Qualifications :
Required:
6+ years of experience in leading and delivering technology and software training, both ILT classroom and VILT webinar formats. Experience with development of CBT/WBT eLearning modules is a plus.
MUST have 3+ years of experience training users on web-based software.
Experience with Reporting, Business Intelligence (BI) and/or Analytics software platforms such as Business Objects, SAS, leveraging and training users on data warehousing, reporting and analytics architectures.
Experience in CMS or Healthcare projects is required.
MUST have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite: MS Word, Power Point, Excel and Project.
Strong customer focus.
Experience working in a CMMI-certified project/environment
Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility tools including JAWS and experience including the use of these tools by end users in order to use other software necessary to perform job functions.
Excellent written and oral communication; ability to share constructive feedback openly and professionally while offering solution-based recommendations.
Self-starter, proactive and results-driven in an outcome-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate a high degree of adaptability and be comfortable with rapid change. Ability to adapt and acquire new skills quickly.
Possesses excellent interpersonal skills. Builds and maintains positive, productive relationships with peers, colleagues, managers, consultants, and clients.
Highly developed analysis and problem solving skills to determine the best training solution.
Optional:
Experience with BI data, especially Medicare/Medicaid Systems and fraud/waste/abuse (FWA) is a plus.
Strong skills in MS Excel charts, graphs, pivot tables and advanced functionalities are highly desirable. Experience in MS SharePoint is also highly desirable.
Knowledge of basic Project Management Process (PMP) principles and practices is highly desired.
Experience with SQL programming is a plus, but not required.
Educational Requirements
Bachelorīs degree in English, Instructional Design, Adult Learning or similar; OR
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering with equivalent training experience.
