Senior Accountant Job Opening in Stevensville, Maryland - Position Summary:
To support Manager daily with cash management, payroll, and financial reporting.
Job Description:
This position requires experience with the standard accounting processes necessary to manage finances for multiple qualified subsidiaries in a multi-state environment. The Senior Accountant will handle accounting and finance duties which may include cash management, payroll, and financial reporting. This position will work closely with AMS Group?s Controller and Accounting Manager. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Support cash management processes and forecasting
Interface with Management Team to review revenue, costs and billing
Assist in payroll processes including appropriate calculations for benefits accruals
Assist with monthly and year end close
Prepare supporting schedules for specific general ledger accounts
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand key financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, General Ledger, Trial Balance)
Qualifications:
Familiarity with government contracting, Sage 100, PO Systems, and Inventory
Payroll in multi-state jurisdiction
Sales and Use Tax in multi-state jurisdiction
Experience with reconciling inventory
Experience with government contracting
Experience with tracking accruals
Previous experience working at a CPA firm is a plus
Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance, and 5+ years? experience
