Referral Coordinator Job Opening in Jacksonville, Florida - Position Summary: The Referral Coordinator is responsible for inbound and outbound referrals. Must have advance knowledge of insurance policies, insurance verification, and how to generate prior authorizations. Must have the ability to multi-task with answering incoming calls, generating referrals, following up with specialty offices, follow up with patients, schedule appointments as necessary. Medical terminology and ICD10 knowledge is a must.
Essential Responsibilities
Models behaviors related to Baymeadows Healthcare core values.
Responds to referral requests in a correct and timely manner.
Prepare prior authorizations as necessary for patients. Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and data retrieval with computerized and paper systems
Follows process to ensure patient satisfaction and PCMH compliance.
Serves as a coordinator, expert and liaison for patient and practice for referral coordination, scheduling and other office functions.
Ability to be a self-motivator that is very well organized.
Must have excel and EMR experience.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma
Medical Assisting Certification preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 year of medical field experience as a referral coordinator or MA.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work efficiently in a team or solo environment.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
Proficient with practice management software and overall knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
