Senior Accountant Job Opening in Phoenix, Arizona - We are looking for an ambitious accountant to provide support to the finance and accounting department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the Company?s finances. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
Manages accounting for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes and all related transactions.
Review, match and enter vendor bills, print checks.
Manage invoicing and cash collection process.
Review and approve expense reports in Expensify. Partner with field and corporate users to ensure timely submission of expense reports. Provide assistance as needed.
Take lead on reviewing customer tax exemption documentation in CertCapture to ensure that valid records are maintained and that invalid certificates are resolved in a timely manner.
Reconcile cash and credit card accounts on a weekly basis.
Responsible for accounting of prepaid expenses, fixed assets and intangible assets.
Prepare and file sales tax returns.
Calculate monthly compensation for outside sales consultants.
Calculate monthly royalties payable in connection with license agreements.
Prepare other account reconciliations in connection with the Company?s monthly close process as assigned.
Issue non-inventory purchase orders.
Prepare and file annual 1099 forms.
Assist in preparation of financial statements and other financial reporting.
Authors and maintains content of various financial accounting policies.
Assist with other accounting and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Preferred:
1-3 years accounting experience
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Process oriented with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Google Docs.
NetSuite and Avalara experience preferred.
Strong technical and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and problem solve.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Versatile, capable, and willing to assist other departments effectively when required.
