Assistant Sales Manager Job Opening in Elk Grove Village, Illinois - AmCraft Manufacturing Inc. is looking to hire an assistant sales manager.
The candidate filling this position would start out by undergoing training like any of our other sales representatives. We manufacture custom industrial divider curtain systems. Each system is designed to fit the specific needs and environment of that customer, so no two customer inquiries or quotes will be exactly the same. A new sales rep. should plan to learn about 100 different hardware parts, plus the design and construction of 5 different types of curtains. Typically, a sales associate will start to feel comfortable with the product line after about 3-4 months. The sales manager will take the time to train you at your speed, in a one-on-one setting. We understand that we sell a niche product, and are committed to teaching our sales associates everything they need to know to successfully assist customers and sell product.
Once this portion of training is complete, and you are comfortable with our product line and offereings, we would move into more of a management role. The assistant sales manager would work directly underneath and in close conjunction with the sales manager. Management activities include, but are not limited to:
assist with workflow management of the entire team (4 people), distribute new incoming requests for quotation in a fair and logical manner, answer questions for team members, assist team members in closing sales, research new potential clients and call them to introduce our company, meeting with the manager to work on improving sales materials for the team, and managing your own customers and quotations.

Requirements for this position are:
Proficient with basic computer functions, primarily Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and gmail.
Be able to multi-task, prioritize, and re-prioritize as needed.
Be able to assist your team members with a professional and friendly demeanor.
Have exceptional customer service skills.
Be punctual and reliable.
Previous management experience is strongly preferred.
Previous experience in sales of custom designed products is strongly preferred.
