Sales Intern for High-end Lifestyle Brand Job Opening in New York, New york - Description:
Since launching with a capsule collection of exotic block print kurtas in 2003, Roberta Roller Rabbit has grown to include everything from ready-to-wear and accessories to tabletop and bedding to a much-loved kids collection. The travel-inspired designs are carried in specialty stores around the world, as well as online and in our sixteen Roberta Roller Rabbit boutiques. We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented individual with a desire to learn high-end wholesale fashion sales. As a key member of our team, you will be involved in all aspects of the business and leave with breadth and depth of knowledge in the industry. Flexible start date for qualified candidates. Approximately 20 - 40 hrs/week. Will provide all documentation for course-credits.
Responsibilities:
What you will learn: 1. The operational structure of a wholesale business that works with luxury department stores like Saks and Neiman Marcus. 2. How to create and execute long and short terms sales strategies. 3. Building client relationships. 4. Utilizing digital wholesale tools like NuOrder. 5. Planning for and participating in major wholesale tradeshows like Coterie. 6. The basic workings of an ERP (SAP). 7. Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects. Start and end dates can be flexible to accommodate school schedules.
Requirements:
What we require: 1. Background in Marketing, Communications, and/or the Fashion Industry 2. Strong communication skills both in working relationships and with clients. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office, particularly Excel. 4. Detail oriented and organized. 5. Creative and Flexible. 6. Familiarity with the fashion marketplace including economic trends and branding preferred but not required. 7. Interested in learning how to build and sustain a successful lifestyle business. Please note** Participation in a school-authorized crediting program is required for this position.
