Part-Time Accounting & Billing Specialist Job Opening in Oak Park, Illinois - POSITION TITLE : Part-Time Accounting & Billing Specialist ? 24 hours/week
BASIC FUNCTION : Provide Billing, Accounting and Statistical Reporting support
POSITION REPORTS TO : Director of Finance & Operations
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Billing
Perform full medical billing cycle for Medicaid, State MCOs and Commercial Insurances;
Review and process Medical billing for sliding fee patients;
Reconcile insurance payments with submitted claims;
Work on claims rejections and denials. Process appeals to the payers as needed;
Monitor scoreboard reports as provided by the clearinghouse;
Process claims to local partner agencies on a monthly basis;
Submit billing for dental sealants performed at the Children?s Clinic and via the Portable Dental program to the Village of Oak Park and the Illinois Department of Public Health ;
Keep abreast of changes in reimbursement policies by attending webinars and local area meetings.
Accounting & Reporting
Prepare statistical reports for grant proposals and internal planning;
Prepare various monthly, quarterly and yearly statistical reports related to medical patients and visits;
Provide reports for local partner agencies and other staff members as needed;
Run & monitor medical & dental aging reports on a regular basis;
Maintain and update various tracking lists for reporting and reconciliation purposes;
Assist with Infant Welfare Society fundraising events reconciliation or account reconciliation as needed;
Act as a back-up for the Accounting Assistant (as needed);
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance & Operations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with Greenway EMR and Quickbooks is a plus
Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
Position Requirements
Associate Degree or Higher
Minimum 1 year finance and billing experience required
