The premier provider of adult day health services is seeking an experienced and dynamic Activity Manager for our Maryland Adult Day Health Center in Baltimore area. Our Centers help families successfully manage the responsibility of caring for elderly and special needs adults living at home while enhancing the quality of life for those in need of care. We also promote the client?s ability to remain independent.
Active Day of Baltimore is now seeking an Activities Manager to join our team.
The Activity Manager plays a vital role. He/She will plan and promote all activities and outings in the center, schedule and oversee the activities staff and program assistants, and create an enthusiastic and positive experience for our members and their families.
This position is responsible for:
Organizing, developing, and implementing an activity program for seniors and persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Evaluating the success of the program and ensuring the overall day to day programming runs smoothly and in accordance with organizational policies.
Providing leadership and management of activity aides.
Preparing and posting monthly activities calendar and menus for use by members, families and visitors.
Assisting in the recruitment, hiring and training of new employees.
As appropriate, participating in individualized care planning conferences and coordinating with other internal and external ancillary services (i.e. dietary, transportation, nursing, social services, clinician) to insure quality member care.
Maintaining accurate files and records of member information.
Observing members during daily activities and documenting attendance and behavior, notifying other professional staff as appropriate.
Purchasing supplies, equipment and materials within an established budget.
Providing active assistance with members as needed (hygiene, meals, ambulation, arrivals and departures and social services).
Working hand in hand with Center Director and communicating effectively.
Other duties as assigned and appropriate
**This position serves as the backup manager when the Center Director is out of the building**
Qualifications:
Associates degree and/or B.S. degree in related Human Services field or 1 to 2 years experience managing and planning in an adult healthcare or recreational setting.
Experience working with seniors and other adults with developmental disabilities
Previous management experience preferred.
Energy, positive attitude and enthusiasm
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills.
Excellent with computer literacy.
Ability to supervise and train multiple employees.
