Software Engineer Job Opening in Memphis, Tennessee - What will you do in your new career?
In this once in a lifetime role, you will, improve and develop software within Visual Basic applications used for designing custom large shell form transformers. Working with our team, you will assist in growth of our business of large power transformer for power grids of the future. Combine creativity, disruptive thinking, and current knowledge of manufacturing and design techniques with thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles to produce results.
In addition you will:
Develop custom software applications within a Visual Basic Programming platform using Fortran and Python executable programs as engines.
Maintain and improve existing Visual Basic and Fortran software associated with the main electrical design program.
Automate the creation of models and input files for use within ANSYS 2D and 3D FEA software.
Develop and maintain other standalone programs for use in the electrical engineering department.
Test and evaluate software built in Japan by mother facility.
Support and assist the Electrical Design Engineers as needed.
Support startup activities at the Memphis facility as needed.
Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Power Transformer Division through interaction with other MEPPI division and vendors.
Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline; 2-5 years? experience in software development, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience developing custom applications within Visual Basic programming.
Developed analytical skills.
Strong computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products, CAD, and engineering analysis programs.
