Position Summary:
We are looking for a VM Ware System Administrator to become a part of an innovative team providing the United States Army Logistics Support Activity (LOGSA) high quality, efficient and effective Information Technology (IT) services. LOGSA is a dynamic organization whose mission continually evolves and/or changes and the individual's ability to remain flexible and adapt to those changes are essential.
Responsibilities :
Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Coordinates installations and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. May be assigned responsibility for the management of the systems administration function, including associated staff.
Qualifications:
Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
Have or be able to obtain standard VMware certification within 6 months of employment (VCP-DCV 5 or 6).
CompTIA Security+
Have 3+ years' experience troubleshooting a VMware Environment.
Have 3+ years' experience troubleshooting ESXi.
Be comfortable troubleshooting hardware, hypervisor, and advanced OS issues.
Be comfortable with vSphere PowerCLI and able to write simple scripts.
Be comfortable with ESXI CLI
CCNP Certification
Preferred Skills:
Standard VMware certification(VCP-DCV 4, 5, or 6).
5 years' experience troubleshooting ESXi.
5 years' experience administering a VMware environment supporting multiple OS platforms.
Be experienced with CISCO UCS hardware.
Be familiar with troubleshooting hardware, hypervisor, and advanced OS issues.
Be familiar with vSphere PowerCLI and/or PowerShell, able to understand the code enough to combine / rewrite multiple scripts into one. Ability to automate multi step tasks and complicated workflows.
Have experience with customizing workflows in vSphere Orchestrator.
Have experience with DoD STIGs and maintaining a proactive compliant stance.
