ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 98%
Perform initial psychiatric evaluations
Provide medication monitoring and follow-up visits
Order and review appropriate labs
Sign and co-sign any and all necessary forms, prescriptions, etc. that are generated, including those generated by a mid-level practitioner.
Provide consultation to primary care, specialty and BH providers on medication issues
Document visits in EPIC electronic medical chart and in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
Attend departmental staff meetings
Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients and significant others.
Report clinical deficiencies to the Medical Director.
Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
Participate in in-service workshops, continuing education, quality assurance and peer review. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending professional development activities.
Refer patients for inpatient psychiatric care when necessary and direct follow up treatment plans.
Work closely with Psychiatry Section Chair and FMD on improving efficiency and productivity.
Provides oversight of Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
Help develop psychiatry section?s policies and procedures; work collaboratively with section chair and other providers

Attends training to meet requirements of the job position and as needed or mandated by TEC policies, Div. of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), OSHA, L&I and other state/federal regulations.
Has regular and predictable attendance.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 2% Performs other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Note that these requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job.
Knowledge: Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Psychiatry field. Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to learn and apply new technologies and skills; proficiency using EPIC and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with lean processes and continuous performance improvement systems.
Skills: Works effectively and collaborative in a team environment. Organizes, prioritizes, and coordinates multiple activities and tasks. Problem-solves with creativity and ingenuity.
Abilities: Reads, speaks, understands and writes proficiently in English. Independent and self-directed. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. Remains calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations. Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and to shifts in organizational philosophy and expectations. Works with initiative, energy and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment interacting with leadership and interdisciplinary clinical staff. Able to work independently, but also within a group, contributing to the efforts of the entire team. Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care
Education : A degree in medicine from an accredited school
Experience : At least 2-4 years of experience as a practicing physician
Certificate/License : Medical license to practice in Washington State.
