Financial Controller Job Opening in Abilene, Texas - EnWater Solutions, a water midstream company based in Abilene, TX, is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee general accounting operations and financial transactions for West Texas. This position will report directly to the EnWater VP Finance & Acquisitions.
EnWaters? operations are primarily based in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and consists of owning and operating mulitiple salt water disposal wells and associated connected pipelines.
The ideal candidate is a team player that enjoys a dynamic work environment, has oil and gas experience and is willing to collaborate with operations, sales and the finance team to achieve the company?s aggressive growth performance and financial goals.
Responsibilities
Oversee month-end and year-end close process
Overall Financial Reporting
Coordinate the Capital budget and p&l forecast
Cash Flow Forecasting
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Oversee monthly invoicing process and communicate with customer?s accounting personnel
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Assist with tax/financial audits and tax returns
Assist in internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Maintain, record and report cash account activities daily
Requirements
Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Awareness of business trends
In-depth knowledge of and experience producing financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages such as WolfePak Software.
Experience with software implementations a plus
Advanced MS Excel skills including visual aids, Vlookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
BS/MS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
CPA preferred
