Medical Collections Specialist Job Opening in Tampa, Florida - Our billing company has an immediate opening for eager workers who are experienced in accounts receivable/ collections/ posting. Must be comfortable dealing with insurance companies and patients over the telephone and fluid but careful in their fax/or email communications. Job :
Monitors overdue accounts
Collect debts from Insurance Companies
Correcting billing errors and resubmitting claims to insurance carriers
Review EOBs and send appeals to Insurance Companies
Follow up on payments errors, low disbursement, denials, etc.
High level of customer service to patients or insurance companies by responding accurately and professionally to inquiries and telephone calls, and must be able to understand and explain reasons for denials and/or appeals.
Maintains and complies to all HIPAA
Patient collector will: * Provide patients with information related treatments, procedures, and continuing medical requirements * Maintain accurate information regarding patient accounts to ensure efficient delivery of patient statements/bills and collection letters * Effectively communicate with patients via phone and mail regarding accounts and work out payment plans if applicable * Monitors delivery of care by completing patient follow ups; documenting care; identifying progress toward desired outcomes * Respects patients by recognizing their rights; maintaining confidentiality * Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards * Maintains patient files by entering new information as it becomes available * Resolves patient referral problems; oversees operations to ensure patient :
2 year experience in healthcare insurance collection field with the knowledge of working aging reports as well as being able to read and understand and Explanation of Benefits.
Computer and word processing skills, and ability to learn new software quickly
Knowledge of Medisoft (preferable)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
Attention to details
Ability to multitask
Able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
