Software Engineer Job Opening in San Antonio, Texas - Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent
experience), plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.
Representative Duties and Tasks:
Embedded Software Engineers conduct or participate in the design development, and integration development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms.
Responsibilities may include the following:
Participate in the full software life-cycle development using object oriented
methodologies and real time operating systems
Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical
analysis to the development of software
Assist with design activities and documentation
Implement software in C
Participate in internal review of software components and systems
Integrate and test software and systems
Investigate and solve problem reports
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of software
systems and applications, and the ability to effectively manage the software solutions.
Proven strong C development and software architecture skills
Working experience with & Python
Embedded real time operating system (RTOS) knowledge
Embedded bare metal designs
Software development experience in an Eclipse environment using NXP processors
Considerable written and verbal communications skills
Proven strong understanding of software design - technology, methods and approaches
In-depth experience with one or more functional areas such as:
Communications: WLAN (802.11b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, & NFC
User interfaces for embedded devices: graphics/windowing SDKs, fonts, control
Platforms: operating systems, system services, BSPs and drivers
Sensors and signal processing: sensor data acquisition, conditioning, filtering, and
processing, algorithm integration and optimization
Preferred Experience:
HVAC control and design.
Experience with communication interfaces
Understanding of electrical interfaces
Technical leadership of embedded software development teams
Mentoring interns and recent graduates in industry best practices
Systems engineering skills for embedded software and hardware
Embedded software product line engineering techniques
Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
