Systems Administrator Job Opening in Chelsea, Michigan - Systems Administrator my client is an innovative food manufacturing organization located near ann arbor. due to growth, they are in need of a systems administrator. the primary purpose of the systems administrator is to maintain existing computer systems (hardware, operating systems, network and applications) and install new systems as required. this position also acts as back up for the lan administrator. the goal of this position is to provide the organization with required technology and support its effective use. some of the responsibilities of the systems administrator include but are not limited to: support end users in diverse client environments ? remotely and onsite; implement security policies and procedures; ensure network security, including user permissions, desktop audits, and intrusion detection are set up appropriately; administer microsoft applications (active directory, dhcp, dns, gpo, exchange, sql); administer servers (windows 2016, 2012); maintain hyper-v cluster; monitor devices and networks using monitoring system (solarwinds); work with 3rd party vendors (erp, pos, crm, misc. sas solutions); the systems administrator will act as back-up technical support for lan administrator as follows: pc hardware; technical support of pcs and peripherals; install, maintain, repair, and upgrade new hardware; install and support winterms; pc application software; support ibm client access express; support the microsoft office suite; download and install updates to applications and operating system. to apply, simply send your resume to system administrator applicants should have the minimum qualifications when applying: ba/bs in cs or equivalent field; active directory, dhcp, dns, gpo, iis experience; vpn experience/knowledge; overall general networking knowledge and understanding of how systems integrate; desire to learn network infrastructure (firewalls, switches); server hardware support (dell); san hardware support (equallogic); office365 administration; exceptional, flexible team player. must have the ability to perform well under pressure as well as the ability to relay sensitive information to appropriate parties.
