Sales Representative Job Opening in Orono, Maine - This position will be located on the North Eastern US around Maine area.
JOB PROFILE SUMMARY
The Sales Representative is responsible for specific accounts (mills) in which they will call on key decision makers such as superintendents, production managers and other personnel. Their primary function is to develop, maintain and grow a core base of annual sales. They will have accountability for regional performance for sales, orders, complaints, receivables and expense control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage accounts as it relates to present budget objectives on sales and orders, complaints, receivables and expenses.
40% of time
Cooperate and interface with all functions of customer service, manufacturing, technology & optimization and administrative support to accomplish objectives.
20% of time
Determine with sales management and regional team members prescribed levels of call frequencies through accounts planning including machine downtime coverage.
10% of time
Annually forecast with sales management growth and opportunities for the future. Must maintain good customer files and records for account planning, forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory control.
10% of time
Coordinates and assists in installations, reports to appropriate Voith personnel and inputs into appropriate data base depending on product line. Any issues with product or runability concerns are reported promptly
10% of time
Promotes value-added products and technical services and exhibits the results for customer understanding and acceptance, including any necessary data analysis and reports
10% of time
Performs other duties as assigned

Provides solid technical support to customers
Provides technical support to solve problems. Utilizes all of the Voith Paper resources that are available when dealing with complex papermaking challenges
Analyzes data to document improvements for product trials, projects and troubleshooting. Develops value added documentation if required to meet Continuous Improvement commitments
Excellent oral and written communication skills, business acumen, organizational development skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to operate in a team environment and in front of customers
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least 5 years of experience in papermaking
Frequent travel up to 85%, majority of travel is driving. Hotel stays 2-3 times per week
EDUCATION REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalent required
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION PREFERRED
BS Degree in Engineering preferred or related paper industry experience
