Vice President of Accounting Job Opening in Great Falls, Montana - Transystems is looking for senior level Vice President of Accounting to lead and develop the Company?s accounting team. The VP of Accounting will responsible for building and enacting accounting practices over multiple locations, delivering timely reports and data to various levels of decision makers, and developing a strong financial team. Experience with federal and state level trucking industry compliance is a major plus. 10+ years? experience in an accounting leadership role is mandatory.
Duties
Oversees personnel and operations for payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, maintenance accounting and other accounting tasks
Delivers monthly financial statements by division and for the company as a whole
Oversees month and year end closing process and prepares internal financial reports
Provides information as needed to management, other departments, and external auditors
Supervises the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes), insurance reports and other reports required by government regulation.
Develops and delivers internal data reports for the purpose of improving financial results
Leads process improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings, including a focus on accounting and reporting information technology needs
Education and Experience Requirements
Current CPA credentials preferred.
Ten years accounting experience (non-profit, public, or private audit)
Experience with organization with revenues equal to or greater than $25 million
Experience leading a multi-level team as an accounting director or manager
Experience preparing financial statements and interfacing with external auditors
Strong Microsoft Excel and other accounting software skills
Demonstrated ability working with a team to meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work with minimal oversight.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong capacity to prioritize and complete varied tasks in a timely manner.
