Accounting Manager Job Opening in Cumberland, Rhode island - Summary:
Management of Accounting Department - Responsible for general ledger and reporting systems, reviews information flowing into general ledger from all sources for reasonableness. Regularly directs the work of two to five full time associates.
Job Responsibilities: Included but are not limited to the following:
Supervises monthly and year-end closings
Oversees accounting departments, budget preparation, and audit functions.
Monitors work flow and accuracy of information from Accounts Payable.
Reviews and assists in preparation of monthly and year-end controls and account analysis
Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets and reports
Maintains the general ledger and primary interface with IT on system
Monthly P&L meeting preparation, analysis and presentation to executive committee.
Works with outside accountants preparing required tax returns information
Supervises the processing and coding of all expense invoices.
Monitors cash management function daily.
Working with our banking institutions on any issues..
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
Working knowledge of PC with Excel and QuickBooks experience.
Minimum of for years of computerized accounting experience
Knowledge of Retail accounting software systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical skills as well as an ability to communicate effectively with staff.
Minimum of three years management experience.
