Baptist Health Medical Group has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant at the Shelbyville Urgent Care location.

The Medical Assistant assists the staff and physician by collection of pertinent patient information needed to determine physical and psychological needs, address and identify health problems, performs selected treatments, diagnostic procedures and routine duties. The MA functions as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities commensurate with training and demonstrated competencies. Direct patient care is provided to patients of all ages.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Basic Life Support Certification required
Minimum two years of direct patient care experience preferred
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program with current CMA certification from AAMA, AMT or NCCT (or be eligible to obtain certification within 1 year of hire)
OR graduate of an approved practical nursing program with current Kentucky LPN license
OR graduate of an accredited RN program with current Kentucky RN license
Additionally, qualified candidates should have strong communication skills, be able to multitask and function as a team player with co-workers.
