Junior Developer / IT (paid internships available) Job Opening in minneapolis, Minnesota - Junior Developer / IT (paid internships available) FourCubed, LLC, a Minneapolis-based internet marketing company is seeking a Junior IT / Software Engineer (and/or intern) to assist in day-to-day operations and to help with building out new features, maintaining existing features, and creating new applications. We are a profitable and established small business that has been in our niche market for over 7 years. We provide a very relaxed and open work environment in North East Minneapolis complete with new Macs / MacBook Pros, 30" high-res displays, huge work areas, 14 foot ceilings, hardwood floors, a foosball table, and more! A successful candidate will possess some or most of the skills, and the drive, to assist us in day-to-day operations, general IT infrastructure setup and upkeep, and application development / lifecycle maintenance implementation. The ideal candidate will have, or want to learn, the following skills: Web Development experience (Ruby / RoR, PHP, Python, ) Object Oriented development practices CSS / Javascript / AJAX experience - jQuery experience a major plus Database experience (MySQL, SQL Server, etc) Excellent working knowledge of multi-platform environments (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc) Very self-motivated, thrives in a relaxed and open working environment Strong problem solving skills A passion for learning new things Good communication skills Responsibilities: Acquire knowledge of our business / IT, apps, and day-to-day ops Learn new technologies & best practices, help apply them within our organization Take a leading role in general internal & external Tech-related support Participate in the design and implementation of new features / projects Be actively involved in implementing new processes & helping to design them Learn AND contribute on a day-to-day basis Job Experience Requirements: 1 year General Web Development experience (any languages) 2-4 Years General IT / Computing / Web Experience Experience with version control a huge plus (especially Git or Mercurial) This is a PAID on-site position in NE Minneapolis. There is the strong potential for this to turn in to a full-time position for a successful candidate.
