CNA/Caregiver Position Job Opening in minneapolis, Minnesota - CNA/Caregiver Position Job Title: Caregiver Reports To: Director of Resident Services/Home Manager Job Summary: Care for residents under direction of nursing and medical staff. Essential include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Become familiar with each resident?s service plan, care needs, personal preferences, and life story. - Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as toileting, taking vital signs, bathing/showering, dressing, and grooming, oral hygiene, hair care, make-up application, skin care and/or shaving, fingernail and foot cares, redirection of confused residents, use of medical equipment (oxygen, c-pap, etc.) and other cares as assigned. - Change bed linens, wash and dry residents? laundry, and clean residents? quarters. - Prepare/provide nutritional meals, fluids, and snacks according to the posted menu, making note of any substitution and reason for change. - Administer prescribed medications as assigned; chart med on MAR and verify that all appropriate signatures and procedures are obtained and followed. - Provide entertainment and stimulation for residents including one-on-one attention and conversation whenever possible (i.e. read aloud and play cards or other games, etc.) as well as providing group activities through out each shift (i.e. games, group conversation and reminisce; exercise or ball toss; sitting outside as a group, etc.) - Complete cleaning tasks around the house/grounds as needed. - Perform a variety of miscellaneous duties as requested. Qualifications: No prior experience or training necessary, however, must be willing to participate in and successfully complete Dementia Care and Core Training programs provided by Rakhma as directed by the State of MN Department of Health. CNA/HHA certification preferred. Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence in English and proper spelling. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to clearly understand and communicate in English, including understanding some specialized medical terminology.
