Bookkeeper Job Opening in Kahului, Hawaii - Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and detail oriented bookkeeper to add to our team!
Position Overview: Perform bookkeeping functions and other accounting functions.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Compile accounts payable packet including purchase order, vendor invoice, receiving ticket, and vendor Form W-9, if required.
Verify and record accounts payable transactions to appropriate GL account and class by analyzing vendor invoice and accompanying information.
Maintain orderly accounts payable records.
Maintain bi-weekly cash forecast and prepare for check run.
Prints checks, obtains signature, and distributes checks as required.
Process ACH and credit card payments for vendor invoices as required.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Answer vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
Run daily errands as needed (bank deposit, FedEx, and or post office runs)
Process vendor credit applications.
Assist with the monthly general ledger close including the preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and journal entries under the direction of the Controller.
Prepare routine compliance reports and returns for County, State, Federal and other regulatory agencies.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Prepare for audits of company's accounts and preparation of annual tax return.
Support the accounting department on daily activities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education :
Associates Degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience and Competencies :
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with QuickBooks a plus.
Ability to perform multiple functions.
Ability to be organized; flexible; and detailed oriented.
Possess exceptional time management skills
Ability to conduct activities in a professional manner, deliver the highest level of customer service both internally and externally.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and regulatory agency instructions.
Ability to effectively communicate and respond to common inquiries or complaints from co-workers, management, and third parties external to the company.
Ability to work mathematical accounting concepts as well as apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical accounting problems, apply GAAP to business situations, research accounting and tax related issues, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
