Accounts Payable Specialist Job Opening in Grand Rapids, Michigan - A West Michigan based Manufacturing Company is looking to bring on a driven, high energy individual, as their new Accounts Payable Specialist. This position will require working aggressively with management, reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
Accounts Payable Specialist Job Duties: ,
Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information. Matches documentation (3-way matching) to ensure validity of invoices to be paid. Invoice entry into various accounting systems (JOBBOSS, DBA, QuickBooks).
Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment. Responsible for semi-monthly check runs.
Records account payable transactions to proper general ledger accounts.
Returns answers to vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
Verifies accounts payable balances by reconciling vendor statements and transactions to internal company records
Resolves vendor account discrepancies by investigating issues; issuing stop payments, payments, or processing adjustments.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Filing of accounts payable paperwork for historical recordkeeping purposes
Data entry of weekly and semi monthly payroll into payroll company software.
Accounts Payable Specialist Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing accounts payable environment, or related education. Organization, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills, Financial Software experience, Analyzing Information , Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Reporting Research Results, Verbal Communication and Critical thinking skills.
