The Spirit of the Position:
Position Summary: Through direction of the Corporate Controller, support the REGION with the primary responsibility of the accuracy and timeliness in reporting corporate financial information. This position is in the Home Office located in Hartford, CT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review of all revenue and expense accounts for the selected region(s), prepare and post necessary monthly closing entries.
Monthly review and reconciliation of all income statement
Manage the closing and reporting process for your region of responsibility.
Prepare monthly budget to actual analysis of region(s) under your responsibility.
Maintain ongoing dialogue with Management Accounting counter-part for assigned region to ensure accurate financial reporting of revenues and related expenses.
Reconcile/review monthly credit card reports and bank statements within region(s) of responsibility.
Monthly preparation and filing of region required tax filings including but not limited to Sales and Use Tax and Personal Property Tax returns
Complete balance sheet reconciliations monthly for all non-fixed asset accounts
EDUCATION:
BA/BS Degree in Accounting
SKILLS:
Consolidations experience is preferred.
Ability to function/work independently as well as in a team
Familiarity with US GAAP
Strong command of Microsoft Office specifically Excel
Ability to solve problems and recommend comprehensive solutions, proven support of peers
Ability to effectively interface with departments in order to provide effective financial information flow.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 4 years? experience in General Accounting/Finance including Financial Reporting and analysis
