CURRENT OPPORTUNITY : **ACCOUNTANT**
A.H. Harris & Sons, Inc., one of the country s largest private distributors of construction materials, has an immediate opening for an Accountant at its corporate office in West Hartford, Connecticut. Responsible to the Accounting Manager, this full-time position compiles and analyzes a variety of accounting data, prepares and audits journal entries, prepares internal financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts and prepares related reports.
Duties include:
Keeping complete and systematic records of business transactions.
Preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries.
Assist with preparation of financial statements.
Strong general ledger focus.
Preparation of monthly accruals and estimates.
Preparation of tax reports and other regulatory compliance reports.
Providing special reports for management as requested.
Understand accounts payable and cash application process.
Other administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
4 Year Accounting Degree
2-3 years of accounting experience
Strong organizational skills
Infor or Hyperion software experience helpful
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables and advanced formulas)
Ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to balance multiple priorities with limited instruction
A quick learner with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
