Customer Support Specialist Job Opening in Peshtigo, Wisconsin - Peshtigo National Bank is looking for someone to join our team in this impactful role! The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for the daily bookkeeping, reconciliation of accounts, posting to and balancing of general ledgers, as well as interacting regularly with customers regarding account/product assistance, transactions, or other banking needs. This position will report directly to the Customer Support Supervisor and will maintain the Bank?s mission statement including exceptional customer service.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Process overdrafts, review overdraft reports, and return charged items. Review Non-Post Report and ensure items are directed to appropriate accounts.
Efficiently and accurately scan work from branches and CSR?s. Ensure documents are encoded and readable prior to submittal.
Review certificates of deposit to ensure all documents are properly completed. Process and mail interest checks, CD notices and renewals.
Review daily transaction reports to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. Process stop payments and Fed returns.
Responsible for daily balancing of ATM. Review and complete adjustments from previous day and investigate any transactions that did not balance from the previous day?s scanned work.
Balance the Bank, including all branches and cash. Post general ledger tickets, process scanned rejected items, and certificates of deposit.
Efficiently file new or changed account information. Process account maintenance items such as account changes, money transfers, online banking transfers, debit card issues, and other customer service adjustments.
Service customer accounts and requests accurately in accordance with bank policy and procedure. Maintain exemplary customer relations by answering questions professionally and efficiently. Promote a positive image of Peshtigo National Bank with all customers.
Act as a ?back up? for the drive thru and/or teller department. Accepts and processes deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing and loan payments. Issues money orders, travelers checks, cashier checks, and US Saving Bonds. Maintains established control for check holds, stop payments, and customer identification procedures.
Open, close, and maintain checking, savings, CD, and business accounts. Open, close, and maintain IRAs and HSAs. Provide referrals to appropriate personnel as needed.
Operate in full compliance with regulations and policies including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible for processing CTRs, SARs, Monetary Instrument documents, and cash logs as applicable. Maintain depository compliance, Truth in Savings, and all account etc.
Assist the front line with balancing cash drawers when a variance occurs.
Remain at the office after closing to complete end-of-day duties.
Work with and maintain all bank and customer information in complete confidentiality.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist other employees with questions and concerns relating to Bank products and services.
Update knowledge and develop professionally on a continuing basis. Participate in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
Perform other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Work Relationships and Scope:
Reports directly to the Customer Support Supervisor. Works closely with customers, CSR/tellers, and other bank employees. Works regularly with confidential Bank and customer information.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of previous bookkeeping experience, and/or teller/customer service related experience within a Bank preferred. Candidate must possess a courteous and professional customer service attitude, mathematical skills, basic knowledge of debits and credits, general bookkeeping terminology, computer skills, excellent verbal communication skills, effective problem solving skills, and the ability to work positively with time pressures.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a bank environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Prolonged standing, sitting, and mental and visual concentration for telephone and computer usage and data entry required. Hours worked are generally during normal business hours, with occasional overtime required (40 to 45 hours per week total). Work on weekends may be required as necessary to ensure customer needs are met. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 to 50 pounds. Some bending, turning, and twisting will be required.
