District Sales Rep - Knoxville, TN Job Opening in Knoxville, Tennessee - Sales are the foundation of IWC?s profits and continued success. The DSR must increase sales in existing customer accounts and create new customer accounts through new product sampling and sales. Collections of monies and keeping customers current on payments affect company profits. The DSR ensures all customer collections are up-to-date according to stated goals. Must live within the Knoxville sales district.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist customer with increasing their business by introducing new menu items, improving quality or function of their business when requested.
- Set up new customer accounts through in-person visits or scheduled appointments.
- Proactively acquire extensive knowledge regarding current and new products to be sold.
- Take customer orders in person, or by phone, fax, email, or text.
- Responsible for numerous customer orders to be correct and transmitted on time.
- Transmit orders early and often throughout the business day.- Must check for faxes, voice mails, and emails regularly throughout day and respond accordingly.
- Collect monies from customers, fill out appropriate paperwork and return to warehouse or make deposit in bank on a daily basis.
- Resolve any issues with missing product for customer in a timely manner.
- Correct any delivery issues customer may have, collect monies, resolves any issue with late payment.
- Resolve any issues or problems a customer may have by working with your DSM, warehouse manager, credit manager, or transportation department and buyers.
- Ability to work with customers and IWC personnel in order to resolve issues in a professional manner.
- A typical day may include long hours with extensive driving of personal vehicle required.
- Must have clean MVR for the past three years.
- Knowledge of products including preparation, portion size, performance, cost and profit margin and market trends.
- Must reach the minimum requirement of weekly sales within required time period.
- Ability to work on a 100% commission basis.
- Must be able to communicate, get along with and work well with customers, brokers, manufacture rep and other employees.
- Committed to being out on the sales route every business day visiting existing customers and/or potential customers.
- Able to travel overnight.
- Attend food shows regionally, regularly scheduled sales meetings at IWC and district sales meetings when scheduled.
NECESSARY SKILLS
- Good organizational, math and communication skills.
- Demonstrate and enforce high standards in customer service.- Integrity, ethical work habits and concern for the overall company good over personal benefit.
- Extensive knowledge of product including preparation, portion size, cost, performance etc.
- Able to work in professional manner when dealing with customers and customer issues.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience with Powersell and/or ability to learn this program.
- Extensive knowledge of product including preparation, portions size, cost, performance etc.
- Clean MVR required.
